it can be solve with the help of Pythagoras theorem

H^2 = p^2+b^2

(17)^2 = AB^2 + (8)^2

289=AB^2 +64

225 = AB^2

15= AB

now,

sin^theta - cos^2 theta

( 15/17)^2 -(8/17)^2

169/279:- answer
