if there is more than one force on an object , then the direction of motion of that body will be decided by resultant force (net force)
Example - two people pulling a body in opposite directions then the net force on that body will be zero, hence the motion due to each force on that object will cancel out and hence the body will not move , and if both of them push that body in the same direction, then the motion due to forces will add up and the body will move in the direction of resultant force.
