If t1 = 5 and tn = tn-1 – 3, find the first 4 terms of the sequence.

Tn =T(n-1) - 3.... (ii)

Substituting n=2 in (ii) so as to get 2nd term T2.

T2 = T1 - 3

and T4 = T3 - 3 = - 1 - 3 = - 4

Hence 4 terms are 5, 2, - 1, - 4
