Answer:

cos (theta) = 1/√5

Step-by-step explanation:

tan (theta) = 2

=> sin (theta)/ cos(theta) =2

=> sin(theta) =2cos(theta)

=> sin^2(theta)=4cos^2(theta)

=> 1-cos^2(theta)=4cos^2(theta)

=> 5cos^2(theta)=1

=> cos^2(theta)=1/5

=> cos(theta)=1/5
