Then find the value of

x + \frac{1}{x} \: = 3 \\ on \: squaring \: both \: side \\ we \: get... \\ {(x + \frac{1}{x} )}^{2} = {3}^{2} \\ = > {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } + 2 \times \frac{1}{x} \times x = 9 \\ = > {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } = 7 \: answer
