we know that accounting equation is

Capital + liabilities= assets

Given capital=260000

Assets= 500000

substitute this in the equation..

260000 + liabilities = 500000

liabilities= 500000 - 260000

liabilities= 240000..

The basic accounting equation, also called the balance sheet equation, represents the relationship between the assets, liabilities, and owner's equity of a business. It is the foundation for the double-entry bookkeeping system.

accounting equation is

asset = capital + liabilities

given -

capital = 260000

assets = 500000

by substitution in formula of below

asset = capital + liabilities

500000= 260000+ liabilities

liabilities = 500000-260000

= 240000

Liabilities = 240000
