Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The circumference of the circle is 46cm

To find:-

Find the radius and diameter of the circle?

Solution:-

Method -1:-

Given that

The Circumference of a circle = 46 cm

We know that

The radius of a circle is 'r' units then the circumference of the circle is 2πr units

=>2 π r = 46

=>2 × (22/7)× r = 46

=>(44/7)× r = 46

=> 44 r / 7 = 46

=>44 r = 46×7

=>r = 46×7/44

=>r = 23×7/22

=>r = 161/22

=>r = 7.32 cm (approximately)

We know that

Diameter = 2× radius

=>Diameter = 2×7.32 cm

Diameter = 14.64 cm

Method -2:-

Given that

The Circumference of a circle = 46 cm

We know that

The diameter of a circle is 'd' units then the circumference of the circle is πd units

=> π d = 46

=>(22/7)× d = 46

=>22 d/7 = 46

=>22 d = 46×7

=>22 d = 322

=>d = 322/22

=>d = 161/11

=>d = 14.64 cm (approximately)

Diameter = 14.64 cm

We know that

Radius = Diameter/2

=>Radius = 14.64 cm /2

Radius = 7.32 cm

Answer:-

Radius of the circle = 7.32 cm

Diameter of the circle = 14.64 cm

Used formulae:-

  • The radius of a circle is 'r' units then the circumference of the circle is 2πr units

  • The diameter of a circle is 'd' units then the circumference of the circle is πd units

  • Radius = Diameter/2

  • Diameter = 2× radius

  • Circumference of a circle are in units like centimetres,metres and kilometres
