The required "option B)  β > 1 and α < 1" is correct.

Explanation:

Alpha(α): It is the ratio of collector current(I_C) to the emitter current(I_E).

∴ α = \dfrac{I_C}{I_E}

Its value is always less than 1.

Beta(β):It is the ratio of collector current(I_C) to the base current(I_b).

∴  β =\dfrac{I_c}{I_b}

Its value is greater than 100.

The relation between  α and β,

\beta=\dfrac{\alpha}{1-\alpha}

\alpha=\dfrac{\beta}{\beta+1}

Conclusion:α < 1 and β > 1

Hence, the required "option B)  β > 1 and α < 1" is correct.
