If the diagonal of a square is 16 inches long what is the area of the square

Also all angles are 90 degree so we can apply Pythagoras theorem

So

x² +x²= 16²

2x²= 256

x²= 128

x=√128

x= 8√2 inches = side of square

Now are of square = side X side

= 8√2²= 128 inches

So side = 16/√2 = 8√2 inches.
