SOLUTION :

The correct option is (a) : 12

Given : Mode - Mean = 24

The Empirical relationship between the three measures of Central tendency mean, mode and median is given by :

MODE = 3 median - 2 mean

Mode - median = 2 median - 2 mean

Mode - median = 2 (median -  mean)

24 = 2 (median -  mean)

Median -  Mean = 24/2 = 12

Median -  Mean = 12

Hence, the (Median -  Mean)  is 12 .

Mode = 3Median - 2Mean

Mode - Median = 2Median - 2Mean

Mode - median = 24

So,

24 = 2Median - 2Mean

Divide the equation by 2

Median - Mean = 12

So the answer is option (a)
