Given :-

The difference between 2 supplement angle is 40°

To find:-

The measurements of angles

A.T.Q

Let the first angle be x°

and the second be x+40°

And we know that the sum of supplementary angles are 180°

Now find the values of x

---> x+x-40=180°

---> 2x=180-40

---> 2x= 140

---> x=140/2

---> x=70°

Now find the angles

First angle is x

then the angle is 70°

And second angle is x+40°

70°+40°

=> 110°

Now ,let check

Sum of angles =180°

110°+70°=180°

180°=180°

\mathbb{\boxed{\pink{GIVEN}}}

  • The two angles are supplementary
  • The difference between the two angles is 40°

\huge{\bf{\underline{\red{SOLUTION}}}}

let two of the angles be x and y

and let x>y

Given two angles are supplementary

Thus the sum of two angles =180°

x+y=180°

or, y=180°-x

thus the other angle will be

\bold{\boxed{\green{y=\:180-x-----i}}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Now it's also given,

x-y= 40°

=> x-(180-x) =40...(putting value of y from i)

=> x-180+x=40

=> 2x-180=40

=> 2x=180+40

=> 2x= 220

=> x= 110°

We know,

y=180-x

=>y= 180°-110°

=> y= 70°

\large{\boxed{\red{x=110\:and\:y=70}}}

The two angles are 110° and 70°
