(b^2-4*6*2)^1/2 =1
Squareing both sides
=> b^2-4*6*2=1
=>b^2-48=1
=>b^2=48+1
=>b^2=49
=>b=+/-(49)^1/2
=>b=+/-7
Hence
b=7 or b=-7

Answer:

Value of b = ±7

Explanation:

Given quadratic equation :

6x²-bx+2=0

Compare this equation with

A+Bx+C = 0 , we get

A = 6, B = -b , C = 2

Discreminant (D) = 1[Given]

=>-4AC = 1

=> (-b)²-4×6×2=1

=> -48=1

=> = 1+48

=> = 49

=> b = ±49

=> b = ±7

Therefore,

Value of b = ±7
