Himalayas act as the natural boundary for Indian sub-continent. It protects us from cold Arctic winds, stops monsoon laden winds and prevents intrusion from enemies.

If the Himalayas would not have been where they are now, many areas of the country wouldn’t have moderate subtropical climate all the year round. Cold winds would have reduced the temperature below zero in winters along with heavy snow.

Even rains would have affected, leading to poor rainfall all over the subcontinent.

here is your answer

>>>The altitude of the Himalayas, their sprawl and extention intercept the summer monsoon coming from the Bay of Bengal and theArabian Sea.

>>>The Himalayas also prevent thecold Siberian air masses from entering into India. Had there been no Himalayas, the whole of northern Indian would have been a cold desert.

>>>They also help in generating hydroelectricity. These mountains check the rain-bearing monsoon winds and thus cause enough rainfall in many parts of India.

hope you understand
