if the length of a rectangle is decreased by 3 units and the breadth is increased by 4 units then the area will increase by 9 square units. represent situation as a linear equation in two variables.

let x is the length of rectangle and d is width
then initial area =xy
according to question ,
(x-3)(y+4)=xy+9
xy+4x-3y-12=xy+9
4x-3y=21
