Given: (2, -1) lies on 2x + ky =3

To find: Value of k.

(2, -1): x = 2, y = -1

Substituting the values: 2*2 + k*-1 = 3

4 + -1k = 3

-1k = 3-4

-1k = -1

k = -1/-1

k = 1

Hope it helps :)

(x,y) = (2,-1)
x = 3
y = -1
Putting these values in 2x + ky = 3
2 * 3 + k * -1 = 3
6 - k = 3
-k = 3 - 6
-k = -3
k = 3
