if the radii of two concentric circles are question and 5 cm then find the length of each chord of the circle which is tangent to a circle​

Since we have given that

Radius of small circle = 4 cm

Radius of large circle = 5 cm

So, we need to find the length of each chord of one circle which is tangent to the other circle.

Since it forms a right angle triangle.

So, by Pythagoras theorem :-

h { }^{2}   = b {}^{2}  + p {}^{2}  \\  5 {}^{2}  = b { }^{2}   + 4 {}^{2}  \\ b {}^{2}  = 25 - 16 \\ b {}^{2}  = 9 \\ b = 3cm

So, lenght of chord :-

2b = 2 ✖ 3

= 6 cm

Hence, the length of the chord is 6cm
