if the radius of a circle is 6 cm and length of arc is 12cm find the area of sector

length of an arc = 22/7 * r  * theta / 360  *2

let theta (the angle) be x degrees.

length = 22/7 * 12 * x/360

But length of arc is given as 12 cm.

12 = 22/7 * 12 * x/360

x = (360* 7)/ 22

now area of sector is  = 22/7 * r * r * x/360

Now using the value of x,

area = 22/7 * 6 * 6 * {(7*360)/22}/360

area = 36 sq cm
