If the side of square is tripled ,how many times the perimeter of the first square will that of the new squrare be?

let, side of first square be x.so, peremeter=4×x=4x. if side is trippled then each sidebar 3x. so, peremeter be 3x×4=12x. so,4x:12x=1:3. therefore,the per emeter will be 3times of new square.
