their are 2 conditions according to their arrangement,

1. When spring is arranged in parallel

2. when spring is arranged in series

in 1st condition, when spring is aaranged in parallel

then the spring constant will be,

K + K = 2k

in 2nd condition ,when springs are arranged in series,

spring constant will be,

1/k + 1/k = k
