 zero of the polynomial, is the value which gives zero on substituting in variable of the polynomial

 substitute x = -1(-1) ^{4}- (-1)^{3} +l(-1)^{2} +m(-1)+4=0

                                   1 -(-1)+l -m+4 =0

                                   1+1 +l -m+4=0

                                    l-m+6=0

                                     l-m = -6
