In the story 'A Letter To God', Lencho prays to God for rain for better yield of crops. But along with rain, hailstorm occurs destroying all the crops. This leaves Lencho penniless and he is unable to support his family. So he writes a letter to God asking for some money which he will repay in the next yield of crops. The postman, a kind - hearted person, reads the letter and sends some money to Lencho.

But Lencho only prays to God instead of arranging the money himself. This shows that he lacked courage. He was also naive in thinking that God would send him money.

Undoubtedly faith in God is a great and enviable virtue, yet not being able to solve one’s problem indicates one’s poor management of one’s resources. God Almighty has given man all the resources to be master of his circumstances and fate. Yet if man lands himself into a trouble, it means he has somehow been negligent.

Lencho was not provident. He had not planned and made any arrangements for any future calamity. Lencho should have kept some resources for emergency.
