Answer: let the age of unicorn a be 49x and age of unicorn b be x

According to the question

   49x + x = 1450

     50x     = 1450

         x     = 1450/50

         x     = 29

age of unicorn a = 49*29= 1421 years

age of unicorn b = 29 years

Correct Question :- if unicorn a is 49 times than unicorn b, and their ages sum up 1450, how old is each unicorn ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, age of unicorn b is equal to x years .

So,

→ Age of unicorn b = 49 * x = 49x years .

then,

→ x + 49x = 1450

→ 50x = 1450

→ x = 29 years .

therefore,

→ Age of unicorn b = x = 29 years .

→ Age of unicorn a = 49x = 49 * 29 = 1421 years .
