$\frac{x + 1}{x} = p \: and \frac{x - 1}{x} = q \\ so \: p + q = \frac{x + 1}{x} + \frac{x - 1}{x} \\ p + q = \frac{x + 1 + x - 1}{x} \\ p + q = \frac{2x}{x} \\ p + q = 2. \\ p = 2 - q$

Therefore relation between p and q is p=2-q.
