x−2=5

Adding 2 on both sides of the equation ,

or,x−2+2=5+2

or,x+0=7

∴x=7

So, as in Left hand side(L.H.S) only x is present so it makes it easier to compare “x”. So, when compared we get the value of ‘x’.

To check the value is correct or not just place the value of “x” in the given equation as 7–2 is 5 so the value of “x” is 7 for this equation.
