Given : If x = 2 is a root of the polynomial f (x) = 2x² - 3x + 7a

On putting  x = 2 in  f (x).

f (2) = 2 (2)² -  3 (2) + 7a

= 2 × 4 -  6 + 7a

= 8 -  6 + 7a

= 2 + 7a

Since, x = 2 is a root of f (x) , therefore  f (2) = 0

2 + 7a = 0

7a = - 2

a = - 2/7

Hence, the value of a is - 2/7.
