If x= -2 is a zero of p(x); then, p(-2) should be equal to 0. Hence,

p( - 2) = 2 - 2 \sqrt{2} + k = 0 \\ = > - 2 \sqrt{2} + k = - 2 \\ = > k = - 2 - 2 \sqrt{2} \\ = > k = - 2(1 + \sqrt{2} )

HOPE THIS COULD HELP!!!
