If x varies inversely as the square of y and x=2 when y=1,find x when y=2

if x is a square of y it must be 2^2=4... so x=4....

so \: x  \: varies \:  \frac{1}{ {y }^{2} }  \\ or \: x =  \frac{k}{ {y}^{2} }  \: (k = constant) \\ or \: 2 =  \frac{k}{ {1}^{2} }  \\ or \: k = 2 \\ when \: y = 2 \\ x =  \frac{k}{ {y}^{2} }  \\ x =  \frac{2}{ {2}^{2} }  \\ x =  \frac{1}{2} (answer)
