If x+y = 10 and xy = 3, find the value of x²+y²

(Tell the answer only if you know because I don't want it to be wrong)

x + y = 10

Square of both sides,

(x + y)² = 10²

-------------
We know,
(a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab
-----------------

Applying formula,

(x + y)² = 10²

x² + y² + 2xy = 100

Putting the value of xy,

x² + y² + 2(3) = 100

x² + y² + 6 = 100

x² + y² = 100- 6

x² + y² = 94

I hope this will help you
