if ,
1/ x^{2} +1/ y^{2} =a
then x^2+y^2=a^2(x^2y^2)

substituting the value of xy ,
x^2+y^2=ab^2

squaring x+y we get,
(x+y)^2=ab^2-2ab
b(ab+2)

hope it helps

1/x^2 + 1/y^2 = a
—> ( xsquare + ysquare)/(xy)^2. = a [taking lcm]
[(X+y)whole square -2xy]/b^2 = a
(X+y) whole square -2b = a(b^2)
(X+y) whole square = ab^2+2b = b(ab+2)

Hope it helps ya
