There is no length and width of a cricket ground. It's a circle and circle is measured by circumference. The circumference of a circle is the length of its border. The circumference can be easily calculated by knowing the radius of a circle which is the length of line from Centre of the circle to any point on the circle.
Once we know the radius 'r', the circumference 'c' of the circle is
c=2*pi*r
Where 'pi' is a constant whose value is 3.142 approximately.
And since radius can be measured by a measuring tape, one can know the circumference of a circle with a measuring tape.

NO, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEASURE THE LENGTH AND WIDTH OF THE CIRCLE PROPERLY BECAUSE IT WILL STRETCH AND CONTRACT AGAIN.
