ANSWER:

The Indus civilisation, encompassed an area of over 1.5 million square kilometres in India and Pakistan, andis an archaeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. "Built around 2500 BCE", it was one of the biggest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, and one of the world's earliest major cities, contemporaneous with the civilizations of Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, Norte Chico, and Minoan Crete,.

EXPLANATION:

If I travel back in time to Mohenjo-Daro in 1000 BC, I would find  great artifacts like the tank called the Great Bath which is an important structure, well paved with several adjacent rooms; pottery with shapes like storage jars, dish-on-stands, goblets, perforated jars, plates, S-shaped jars, bowls, pots, and dishes; painted motifs on pottery, depicting papal tree leaves, intersecting circles, fish-scale designs, horizontal bands, zigzag lines, and geometrical motifs, and floral and faunal patterns; chert blades, ivory and bone tools, and copper objects; tools/equipments such as chisels, points, fishhooks, needles, weighing pans, razors, antimony rods made of bronze, and mirror; copper plates for weighing balances; cubical chert weights; and seals from various media like copper, ivory, steatite, and terracotta.

The Indus civilisation along with its urban features began to decline from around 1900 BCE. Though the reasons are still unknown, several theories have been suggested such as changes in climatic conditions, decline of the trade with Mesopotamia and flooding or drying up of the Indus river, migration of people in the eastern and southern directions, and foreign incursion were some of the reasons for the decline and collapse of Indus civilisation. However the Indus civilisation did not completely disappear, and continued as rural culture.

The mystery about Indus valley civilisation its script is not yet deciphered, and no one still  knows clearly what happened during the final phase of the Indus valley civilisation, although many theories have been suggested for the decline (as given above).

Not much is known about the ‘Indus valley Civilization’. People believe that the disappearance of the ‘Indus Valley civilization’ could be due climatic changes. There are others who believe that due to decline in trading or due to invasions the civilization disappeared.

EXPLANATION:

Mohenjo-daro and Harappa were the two main cities of the ‘Indus Valley civilization’. The cities had well planned streets and advanced drainage system. There were no main areas of kingdom or palaces for the government or the king.

There were standard pottery and tools and the seals and weight systems which were used for trading. There were large pools known as the great Bath. Wells were found all over the city. Every house contained an area for bathing and a drainage system.
