If you were asked to read the novelTHE BEAN TREES BY BARBARA its about how the main character spends much time contemplating her future and trying to avoid the traps that she sees other teen girls falling into. Issues dealing with child abuse, abandonment, racism, immigration, and teen pregnancy are present throughout the novel. if yes why?
