Pros:
Less disturbances. In my coaching classes, there will be a few back-benchers that will always create some sort of nuisances to distract the students and teachers. No such thing usually happens in online classes, at least for me.
Lot of time saved: As in the point above, few guys would get under the teacher’s skin and that would lead to frequent outbursts. Normally, at least ten percent of the class duration would be devoted to lecturing and scolding those kids. There are also no external factors- nobody interrupting the teacher during the lecture for any work usually. So, almost all the time is spent studying.
Introverts get to speak/chat: Some people are shy in asking their questions in a class with judgemental eyes upon them. Though this may not be true for all, the virtual classroom helps some being more frank and open about their doubts and classes. The chatting option or the anonymous option helps them.
Much safer: Given the state of the pandemic, it is easier to rely on online classes rather than risking anybody’s health.
Cons:
Distractions: Most people are using Zoom, and its pretty- like really- easy to just let the software run in background while you scroll through your Instagram or watch a web show. Unless people re using better softwares like Microsoft Teams that helps keep an eye on the participants’ activities, its really simple to just tune the meeting out and do whatever you want.
Internet Problems: Well, this happening just end the debate, doesn’t it? Not many people have good internet access, and losing connectivity is just annoying as hell.
No Assured Productivity: People can very easily make the excuse of bad internet and escape being productive during meetings. People are becoming more and more lazy, waking up just before the Zoom call. However, some people function better at home.
