Given :

Distance at which illuminance to be found = 2 m

The luminous intensity of the source = 100 candela

To find :

Illuminance at a point 2 m far from the source .

Solution :

Illuminance at a point = ( luminous intensity of source ) / ( Distance of the point )^2

=> Illuminance at 2 m far point = 100 / 2^2

=> Illuminance at 2 m far point = 100 / 4

=> Illuminance at 2 m far point = 25 lux

Illuminance at a point 2 m far from the source is 25 lux .
