3. The prices have been under revision in favour of poor households in general.

4.  The minimum support price and procurement has contributed to an increase in the production of food grains.

  • There are about 5.5 lakh ration shops all over the country ( INDIA).
  • Ration shops are also known as Fair price shops.
  • There are basically 3 types of ration shops :-
  1. Antyodaya cards ( for poorest of the poor )
  2. BPL cards ( for below poverty line )
  3. APL ( for all others)
  • The National Food security Act was passed in 2013.
