Actually, Galileo Galilei didn't invented microscope. He was an astronomer and probably he might have invented telescope.
Zacharias Janssen was the man who invented microscope. And as he used to make spectacles, he invented microscope in order to clearly view the minute components of spectacles.
Whereas Robert Hooke was a natural philosopher and while he was obserbing a thin slice of bottle cork he found structure similar to honeycomb. Then he concluded from his observation that cork was made up of tiny units( now which we know as cells).
So, Robert Hooke was first to observe cell because it was something from field of his interest unlike Zacharias Janssen who was a spectacle maker.
