Answer:

The total number of temples in the city is 100 and in each temple, the man offered 100 flowers.

Solution:

Given that

The number of flowers which is there in a single basket = 1250 flowers

The number of baskets that a man needs for worshipping the temples in the city = 8

From the given information it is clear that the man worshipped with the number of flowers which is equal to the number of temples in the city.

The total number of flowers he need for 8 baskets = 8 × 1250 = 10000

Assume number of temples in the city be ‘x’ and each temple he offered ‘x’ (same quantity as the number of temples) flowers.

Thus,

\begin{array} { l } { \mathrm { x } \times \mathrm { x } = 8 \times 1250 } \\\\ { \mathrm { x } ^ { 2 } = 10000 } \\\\ { x = 100 } \end{array}

The total number of temples in the city is 100 and in each temple, the man offered 100 flowers.
