Answer:

(d) 7000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The investment of X = 5000,

Y's investment = 8000,

Let the investment of Z = x,

Thus, the ratio of profit of X, Y and Z

5000 × 12 : 8000 × 12 : x × 12

5000 : 8000 : x      ( ∵ profit ∝ investment × time ),

According to the question,

5000 = 25% of (5000 + 8000 + x)

5000 = 1/4(13000 + x)

20,000 = 13,000 + x

x = 7000

Hence, Z's capital in the  business would be 7000 rupees.
