Answer:

49 students

Step-by-step explanation:

let the total number of students be x

APQ:

 \frac{1}{7} x +  5\sqrt{x}  + 7 = x

here, 1/7 times x is the number of students that play football. √x is the number of students that play cricket and 7 students play hockey.

on solving we get

5 \sqrt{x}  = x -  \frac{1}{7} x - 7

or

 {(5 \sqrt{x} )}^{2}  =  {( \frac{6}{7} x - 7)}^{2}

or

25x =  \frac{ {(6x - 49)}^{2} }{49}

or

1225x = 36 {x}^{2} - 588x + 2401

or

36 {x}^{2}  - 1813x + 2401 = 0

or

x = 49or1.3611112

being number of students, x can be fractional so, x=49

so there are 49 students in the class
