How to solve?

The questions can be solved just by adding + and - sign marks and adding total to get total marks. So, we need to find the correct and incorrect answers by adding these marks. Just the thing, we need to keep in mind:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

⚠️ Here, there is no marks for unattempted answers, So as we don't need to find unattempted answers, see can neglect the unattempted answers.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You can understand the question by the solution itself.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution:

✏ Total score = Marks for correct answers + Marks for incorrect answers + Marks for unattempted answers.

⚠️ Neglecting marks for unattempted answers.

(1) Given:

  • Marks for correct answer = +3
  • Marks for incorrect answer = -2

Marks scored by Ram = 20

Mark's obtained by correct answers =

12 × 3 = 36

Then, Mark's for incorrect answer =

20 - 36 = -16

No. Of Incorrect answers =

-16/-2 = 8

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

(2) Marks obtained by Mohan = -5

Mark's obtained by correct answers =

7 × 3 =21

Then, Mark's for incorrect answer =

-5-21 = -26

No. of Incorrect answers =

-26/-2 = 13
