let boys be x and girls be y

x=y+12%y

x=y+0.12y

x=1.12y

so

x/y=1.12/1

100x/y=112
so x/y=112/100

simplifying x/y=28/25

so x:y : : 28:25

Answer: 14:11

Step-by-step explanation:

Let total number of students = 100

B+G=100 .........(1)

According to question,

B=G+12%100

B=G+12÷100×100

B=G+12

From equation (1)

G+12+G=100

2G+12=100

2G=100-12

2G=88

G=44

Again from equation (1)

B+44=100

B=56

B:G=56:44

B/G=56/44

B:G=14:11
