in a class the ratio of the numbers of boys to that of the girls is 4:3 . if there is 20 more boys and 12 less girls then the ratio would have been 2:1. hiw many students were there in the class.?

Let no. og boys be 4x and girls be 3x

Given, (4x+20) / (3x-12) = 2/1

2x + 10 = 3x - 12

x = 22

Total no of students = 4x + 3x = 7*22 = 154
