In a function madhu wished to give 21rs to each person present and found that she fell short of 4rs so she distributed 20rs to each and found that 1rs were left over? How much money did she gave and how many persons were there?

here is the solution of this question
let madhu have to give money to the total no. of peoples = x
let madhu have total money = RS. y
so according to question
two linear equations forms these are :-
→21 x - 4 = y.
→20x + 1 = y.
setting equations we get.
→ 21x -y = 4. ...........(1)
→ 20x-y = -1. ...........(2)
= subtracting 2nd eqn from 1st, we get :-
→ x = 5
putting value of x in eqn 1st we get
→ y = 21*5 -4= 101
so total no. of persons = 5
total money = rs. 101
