The sum of the ratios :

2 + 6 + 3 = 11

Amount of protein supplement = 3/11 × 99 = 27

Water = 6/11 × 99 = 54

Fruit juice = 2/11 × 99 = 18

Let the amount of water added be x:

The new amount will be :

x + 54 = 54 + x

The new ratio is :

3 : 5 : 1

The new ratio of water to juice is :

5 : 1 = 54 + x : 18

54 + x / 18 = 5/1

54 + x = 90

x = 90 - 54

x = 36

The amount of water to be added is :

= 36

 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

Old Ratio = Protein Supplement : Water : Fruit Juice = 3 : 6 : 2

.

STEP 1 : Solve x:

Given that the mixture is 99 liters.

Let x be the constant ratio:

3x + 6x + 2x = 99

11x = 99

x = 99 ÷ 11 = 9 liters

.............................................................................................

STEP 2: Find amount of water:

Water = 6x = 6(9) = 54 liters

.............................................................................................

.............................................................................................

New Ratio = Protein Supplement : Water : Fruit Juice = 3 : 5 : 1

.............................................................................................

STEP 3: Solve y:

Given that the mixture is 99 liters.

Let y be the constant ratio:

3y + 5y + y = 99

9y = 99

y = 99 ÷ 9 = 11 liters

.............................................................................................

STEP 4: Find the amount of water:

Water = 5y = 5(11) = 55 liters

.............................................................................................

STEP 5: Find the change in volume of the water:

Change in volume = 55 - 54 = 1 liters

.............................................................................................

Answer: The water is increased by 1 liters.

 \textbf {Cheers}
