Given:

In a monohybrid cross, two pea plants were crossed and produced 360 offspring. Out of these, 270 individuals show a dominant phenotype for stem height.

To Find:

What was the genotype of the parents?

Solution:

We know that the Dominant phenotype has the genotypes TT, Tt and the Recessive phenotype has the genotype tt.

Now, according to question (TT and Tt) is 270 out of 360 which is,

=\frac{270}{360}*100\\=75\%

So the remaining will be tt which is 25%

From above we get the set of offspring to be TT, Tt, Tt, tt

Hence, (Tt*Tt) that is parents will give TT Tt Tt (75%) and tt(25%) and both the parents are heterozygous dominant genotypes.
