Red balls are 140, yellow balls are 112 and green balls are 196

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The ratio of red yellow and green balls in a packet = 5 : 4 : 7,

Let red balls = 5x, yellow balls = 4x and green balls = 7x,

Where,

x is any positive real number,

Since, each red ,green,and yellow is ₹10,₹12 and ₹8 respectively,

∵ total price = price of each article × number of article,

total cost of the packet = 5x × 10 + 4x × 8 + 7x × 12

= 50x + 32x + 84x

= 166x

According to the question,

166x = 4620

\implies x = \frac{4620}{166}\approx 28

Hence, the number of red balls = 5(28) = 140,

Yellow balls = 4(28) = 112,

green balls = 7(28) = 196
