Draw a right angle triangle ABC.

Angle B=90*

angle A=45*

Angle C = 180 - (90+ 45)

angle C = 45*

since angle A=angle C= 45*

therefore triangle ABC is a isocesles triangle,

let hypotenuse BC=12 cm

let other two sides be equal:AB=AC=x

by using pythagoras theorem,

BC^2 = AB^2 + AC^2

12^2 = x^2 + x^2

144 = 2 x^2

x^2 =144/2

x^2 = 72

take a square root of 72. Then u wil get the vale of x=8.5 cm
