When a web page is built it requires various things to make the web page run and look presentable both. HTML is the code which runs in browser also known as client side processing. This gives the overall structure  of the web page, it creates the skeleton of the web page. Whereas XML is used for the description of data, as it is flexible to create electronic information formats.
