To Find : find the perimeter of the quarter of the circle correct to one decimal place

Solution:

Circumference of circle = 2 \pi r

Circumference of quarter of circle = \frac{2 \pi r}{4}=\frac{\pi r}{2}

Substitute r = 3.5

Circumference of quarter of circle = \frac{\pi 3.5}{2}=5.495

So, Length of arc of sector is 5.495 cm

So, the perimeter of the quarter  = Length of arc+ 2r

                                                     = 5.495+2 \times 3.5

                                                     = 12.495 cm

Hence the perimeter of the quarter of the circle is 12.4 cm
