Let number of votes secured by A be x.

Then number of votes secured by B is 50x/100 = x/2.

Given condition,

x - 200 = x/2

x - x/2 = 200

x/2 = 200

x = 400.

Therefore the total number of votes A got is 400.

Then B secured 200 votes.

So total number of votes = 400 + 200 = 600.
